In this comprehensive course, you will hear from inspiring and innovative surgeons and scientists about strategies to enhance your success as an early career surgeon and investigator. The course will be beneficial to medical students, neurosurgery and orthopedic residents, as well as junior spine surgery faculty interested in maximizing their careers.

Learning Objectives:

Understand the critical components and nuances of contract negotiation
Demonstrate knowledge on strategies to build a successful practice
Think critically about preparing for oral board examinations
Develop strategies to align clinical and research interest
Understand the research opportunities available to spine surgeon at the NIH and DOD
Develop strategies to conduct research in nonacademic settings
