Spinal surgery has advanced through the benefits of many breakthroughs in devices and their applications. The role of the surgeon in these developments cannot be underestimated. Surgeons identify areas in need of innovation, as well as help to invent and refine novel devices to address the identified needs. Beyond the clinical aspects, surgeons can also successfully take on an entrepreneurial role. The invited faculty of this session are successful innovators and/or entrepreneurs who will provide insight into device development and the business side of spinal surgery.
