Dr. Rodts was born in Wichita, Kansas and lived numerous places in the Midwest and Northeast. He graduated from Princeton University with a B.A. in Biology in 1983. He received his M.D. degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University in 1987. His neurosurgery residency was at UCLA, graduating in 1994. He completed a post-graduate spine fellowship at Emory Universtiy in 1995 and has been on the faculty at Emory University School of Medicine and the Department of Neurosurgery ever since. He is Professor of Neurosurgery, Chief of Service at Emory University Hospital Midtown, and Co-Director of the Emory Neurosugery Post-graduate fellowship in spine surgery. Dr. Rodts is a member of the CNS, AANS, the Academy of Neurological Surgeons, the Society of Neurological Surgeons, and the Georgia Neurosurgical Society. He has previously served as President of the CNS and Chairman of the Joint Section on Disorders of the Spine and Peripheral Nerves and President of the Georgia Neurosurgical Society. .
