Kareem Khalifeh, BS, is a second-year medical student at the UCSD School of Medicine whose research is primarily focused on minimally invasive spine surgery. Previous projects include reviewing the use of robotic devices in adult spinal deformity surgery and exploring atypical manifestations of cervical radiculopathy.
Kareem earned his bachelor's degree in Human Biology at the University of Southern California and worked as an emergency department medical scribe prior to becoming a medical student. He is interested in pursuing a career in neurosurgery and is currently in the process of studying for USMLE Step 1. Outside of academia, Kareem enjoys running, fishing, and playing music.
