This special course, held in partnership with the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) Spine Committee, will review the role of global spine surgeons and how to work towards equal and affordable spine care worldwide. We will specifically focus on four aspects of global spine surgical care including surgical camps, training, education, and health system, policy and advocacy. We hope participants will come away with knowledge of opportunities and understanding of how to contribute to all four aspects of global spine care. The course will incorporate international speakers discussing the issues facing them in spine care in their home countries, as well as a discussion of neurosurgery in war zones and building international referral networks.
