Medical Student
UC San Diego
My name is Marcos Real, a medical student at UCSD, with a strong interest in the neurosurgical field. I am originally from Tijuana, Mexico and finished my education in California. I attended UCSD as an undergrad where I received my Bachelor's in Microbiology. During my undergrad studies however, I conducted neuroscience research assessing the impact of polycystic ovarian syndrome at the level of the hypothalamus and was intrigued by the brain. I continued my research as a master's student which helped solidify my interest in the brain. As a medical student, I now am very much committed to the neurosurgical field and aspire to help innovate the field for the benefit of my future patients.
