Dr. David Okonkwo is Professor of Neurological Surgery and serves as Director of the Scoliosis and Spinal Deformity program at UPMC. He is also Director of the Neurotrauma Clinical Trials Center (NCTC) in the School of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Okonkwo is also Team Neurosurgeon for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dr. Okonkwo is Past Chair of the AANS/CNS Section on Neurotrauma and Critical Care. Dr. Okonkwo’s clinical and research interests are traumatic injuries to the brain and spine as well as scoliosis and spinal deformity.
