Pratheek Makineni is a second-year medical student at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He is a member of the neurotrauma research group led by Dr. Michael Kelly, department chair of Neurosurgery at The MetroHealth System. Pratheek completed his Bachelor of Science in neuroscience with a minor in medical anthropology at Case Western Reserve University. Pratheek has multiple leadership roles at his medical school, including acting as the student lead for the neurotrauma research group and co-founding a multi-disciplinary biotech incubator at Case Western. He also volunteers at the student-run health clinic, where he assists clinicians in providing care for marginalized populations. Pratheek’s research interests include neurotrauma, spine surgery, and big data. Outside of medicine, Pratheek enjoys playing pickleball, skiing, and thrifting.
