David Kurland MD, PhD is currently a PGY6 at NYU Langone Health in the Department of Neurosurgery. He is originally from Baltimore, MD and matriculated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine Medical Scientist Training Program, where he studied microglia and the molecular underpinnings of secondary injury to the central nervous system under neurosurgeon-scientist Dr. J. Marc Simard. At NYU, he is involved in a number of clinical and data-science driven research endeavors. He will be entering a post-residency fellowship in complex spinal surgery at Brown. David enjoys reading, running, and every minute spent with his wife, Nicole, and sons Simon and Remy.
