Ummey Hani is a neurosurgery Postdoctoral Research Fellow, currently affiliated with the Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Associates in Charlotte, North Carolina. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from Sindh Medical College in Pakistan and completed her internship at the Aga Khan University, where she was recognized as the Class Valedictorian and one of the 5 Best Interns for the year 2022. Hani's passion for academics is reflected in her diverse research interests, which include neuro-oncology, spine surgery, biomechanics, surgical outcomes, and value-based healthcare. She is a member of both the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) in the USA and the Pakistan Academy of Neurological Surgery (PANS) as a Core Academic Associate. Despite being a foreign medical graduate, Hani is committed to pursuing a career in academic neurosurgery and is currently working towards securing a neurosurgery residency in the United States.
