John D. Arena, MD MSTR is a neurosurgery resident at the University of Pennsylvania. His clinical interests include the surgical treatment of spinal disorders including degenerative disease, spinal deformity, traumatic injuries and spinal tumors, as well as the treatment of traumatic brain injury. Dr. Arena’s research focuses on the neuropathological consequences neurotrauma, particularly trauma-related neurodegeneration and chronic traumatic encephalopathy. He plans to pursue clinical fellowship training in complex spinal disorders.
