Omar was born in Aberdeen, Scotland and is currently a postdoctoral research fellow in Orthopaedic Surgery at Vanderbilt Spine Outcomes Lab working under the mentorship of Dr. Julian Lugo-Pico, Dr. Raymond Gardocki, Dr. Amir Abtahi, and Dr. Byron Stephens. He obtained his medical degree from Imperial College London as well as an intercalated bachelors degree of science in Pharmacology. He has a keen interest in orthopaedic surgery research, especially in improving clinical and patient reported outcomes in spine surgery. Omar aims to apply for orthopaedic surgery residency to match for 2025, where he hopes to continue his research interests as a resident.
