Seth M Meade BSE is a fourth-year medical student at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, and a master’s student in Biomedical Investigation with a focus on machine learning and clinical trial design at Case Western Reserve University. After receiving his bachelor’s in biomedical engineering at Case Western Reserve University with a focus in neural engineering, he continued his 4 years of research in spinal cord injury (SCI) during undergrad as a full-time neural engineer for 2 years with the Cleveland FES Center inside the Cleveland VA Medical Center before attending medical school. He currently holds a part-time consulting appointment as a Biomedical Engineer for the Cleveland VA helping develop non-invasive neural stimulation devices. His primary research focus is with the Cleveland Clinic Center for Spine Health applying machine learning, time series analysis, and simulation study methods to better understand the time-dependent nature of post-operative recovery following spine surgery and the factors that impact postoperative outcomes. He is passionate about applying novel methods to personalize predictive modeling for patient care and guide the development of innovative technologies to address the needs of neurosurgical patients.
