Dr Nader S. Dahdaleh is currently an associate professor of Neurological and Orthopedic surgery at Northwestern University Fienberg school of medicine. He is also the Chief of Neurological Surgery at Northwestern Medicine Western Region and the Vice Chair for Education.
He was born and grew up in Amman, Jordan and attended the National Orthodox School graduating from high school in 1997. Dr Dahdaleh obtained his undergraduate degree in biology from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon, graduating with distinction the year 2000. He obtained his medical degree in 2004, graduating with merit and ranking first in his class also from the American University of Beirut. He then completed his training in Neurological surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in 2012. He also completed an adult deformity fellowship in the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in 2011. Subsequently, he completed a minimally invasive spine surgery fellowship at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine in 2013.
He has special clinical interest in minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal trauma, disorders affecting the craniovertebral junction, spine biomechanics, and gait analysis. He conducts spinal outcomes research and is passionate about resident education. Dr Dahdaleh is renowned for his expertise in complex cervical spinal surgery and surgery of the craniovertebral junction. He has been invited numerous times to speak and teach courses nationally and internationally. He has over 200 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters and has published in high profile journals including: Nature Neuroscience, Cell, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, American Journal of Human Genetics, Journal of Neurosurgery and Spine.
