Dr. Andrew J. Pugely is an Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa. He received his medical school training from the University of Wisconsin and a Master of Health Care Delivery Science at Dartmouth. Dr. Pugely completed his residency at the University of Iowa before moving on to a fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Spine Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO., and then a fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Comprehensive Spine Surgery at Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Pugely is the immediate past President of the Iowa Orthopedics Society, a member of the North American Spine Society (NASS) . He is a member of the Iowa Orthopedics Society, AO Spine North America, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Iowa Medical Society, Mid-American Orthopedic Association and the American Medical Association. He also is part of the editorial board of one of the most cited spine surgery journals, SPINE. Dr. Pugely has over 100 peer-reviewed publications on orthopedic and spine topics. He is dedicated to providing surgical care to adults with a wide variety of spine conditions.
