Dr. Mert Marcel Dagli, MD is a neurosurgery research fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. He is actively pursuing a neurosurgical residency in the United States and graduated top of the class, summa cum laude, and an MD with Distinction from the Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria in 2023. His clinical research interests include the development and validation of artificial intelligence (AI)-based diagnostic and prognostic clinical prediction models, the use of large language models for patient communication and education, and their integration into natural language processing pipelines for the automated and validated extraction of clinical data. With a strong focus on innovation, additional interests in emerging technologies include AI brain enhancement, brainoware, memorization augmentation, and functional restoration through electrocorticographic decoding and neuromodulation.
